The Hampton Plan

The student achievement gap that exists today along race and class lines is the intended consequence of conscious policies that began with the 1868 Hampton Plan, which was designed to deny black citizens a quality first-rate public education. This poster explains the Hampton Plan and provides an historical timeline.
