Jackson, MS – On Sept. 3 the MS Dept. of Education issued its new guidelines for Free and Reduced Lunch. The new guidelines cover:
a. Meal Applications and Instructions,
b. Determination of Eligibility,
c. Information Required from Applicants,
d. Changes in Rules on Disclosure of Household Income,
e. Eligibility of Foster Children,
f. Duties of schools to disclose meal policies,
g. What to do when parents or guardians are dissatisfied, and
h. Prohibitions on discrimination and the appeal process.
